There is Beauty in Simplicity

How often have you said to yourself "I'll start tomorrow"?

Often we put things off because they seem too big or we are too busy. Sometimes it's because we try to do too much in one go. Take yoga for example, you might decide that you want to practice regularly and set yourself the goal of doing an hour of yoga then when it comes to it you feel that you can't fit it in. I am here to tell you that there is beauty and value in simplicity, start small, do one small thing today and then build on it when you are ready.

Start today with this simple Cat Cow Sequence -

This sequence is really good for easing tightness and stiffness in the back. It can be done on all fours or seated on the floor or even in a chair (If you are in a chair make sure that your feet are firmly planted on the floor and feel your sit bones connect with the seat. Hands to your thighs). *If you are pregnant just work with steps 1 and 2 - table top and cat. 1. Table top Bring yourself onto all fours with your knees hip width apart and your hands shoulder width apart. make sure that your hips and knees are in a straight line and your shoulders, elbows and wrists are in a straight line. Your spine should be in a straight line from the base to the top. Inhale 2. Cat As you exhale begin to arch the back tucking your tailbone under and your chin to your chest. Draw your belly button towards your spine. 3. Cow On your next inhalation draw the head, chest and tail bone towards the sky and allow your abdomen to expand. Keep working through this sequence ten times with the breath and preferably with the eyes closed so that you can really feel the movement.
